New (small) post

right, see i have some extra time because my cousin's aren't bothering me right now, so i'll post a little about the project of skinning my XP computer. (2 months and still uncompleted). The improvements are many, look for yourself:

10th december (above)

11th December (below)

I've added Yahoo(TM) widgets with two widgets: the weather and the time, which is cool, tried to add Serious Samuraize (which failed miserably)

Also changed from StyleXP to WindowBlinds.

Also, my cousins are going back to KL today[11 December] :( . Once they get back to KL they will email me the photos :)

Update

Hey guys, sorry i haven't been updating. And no this is not an update. I'm just informing you that my cousin(s) are here so i can't blog, and i will be mega-posting when i blog. thanks, and goodbye!

Thursday, November 13, 2008

tomorrow will be the graduation ceremony -- the last day of six years of primary school education. looking back, i see all the friends, the teachers, the lessons -- all the memories, they lie before me, and i cannot believe that next year (maybe even in two days) that i will never see any of my classmates again, especially the female ones and the ones that I don't know well. It's a disturbing thought, frankly speaking.

All I have are three pieces of envelope with autographs on them to remind me of them. Insignificant indeed.

On a lighter note, my blogskin should be ready soon! Creds to Fiona and Ariel.

Changing your PC to a Mac. (Two Ways Included)

Hi guys! Seen my previous post? I showed you the effects of changing your PC to a (lookalike) Mac. Now, I shall tell you how to!

There are two ways: the Free N' Easy Noobcake way, and the Damn Hard Waste Time Professional D.I.Y way. I personally used the DHWTPD.I.Y way.

First I will explain the Free N' Easy NoobCake way. This takes three steps, and does not have as many features as the Damn Hard Waste Time Professional D.I.Y way.

1. Google Search "Flyakite OSX"
2.Download and install
3. Restart computer

That's it! For all of you mentally retarded
lazy
people who don't like to waste time, this is for you!

2. The Damn Hard Waste Time Professional D.I.Y. Way (TRY TYPING THIS FIVE TIMES, DAMMNIT)

This takes a lot of steps, but it gives you that (feeling), that (vibe), and is more convincing too!
0
1. Search for a dock program (ObjectDock) and install it.
2. Search for StyleXP and download and install it. Choose style Milk (have to download separately)
3.Search for RainLender, download and install.
4.Search for ObjectBar, download and install.
5. Search for Trillian, download and install. Use a suitable Mac skin. Failing that, or if you use MSN Messenger, download Messenger PLUS and search for a good Mac skin.
6.Download iTunes for Windows and install it.
7.Download Safari 3.1 for Windows (4.1 if you can get access to that) and install it.
8. The finishing touch - get an OSX boot screen and login screen.
9. The the finishing finishing touch - get an OSX wallpaper. (There are two, choose one)
10.Restart your computer.

Notice that I grouped installing and downloading together, to make it look simpler.

That's all, folks!

P.S. I just changed skins! Do you like it? Tell me in the CBOX, or take the Nuffnang poll (the new one)

Hi guys!
Today, I will not be posting about Part 2 of the previous post, nor elaborating on my new fishes (check the Twitterbox). I will be posting about something completely different!

Today, I felt extremely fed up about my computer. It looked lame and boring. Hence, with the help of http://features.engadget.com/2004/06/09/turn-your-pc-into-a-mac/ this website, I managed to turn my Windows XP Computer (which looks something like yours if you use windows XP) into something really nice. Watch.

Now, doesn't that just look cool?

(Note: If you had read my twitter post, you find that I don't like Macs. I don't like Macs not because they don't look cool, but because they're slow and expensive and the lack of hardware).

Yesterday was the BBQ Under-the-stars and Sleepover.

This is Part 1 of 2. (Prelude and Build-up)

After the Rehearsal for Graduation Ceremony, I, Fiona, Ariel and Etsuko had to go to the Music Room to do yet another rehearsal. After that, Ariel had to go to debate, but she forgot her water bottle and book. Etsuko had to go home. That left me and Fiona. After saying goodbye to our drumming teacher, (Miss) Emma, we went down with Ms. Mavis Tan. Fiona bought chicken rice; Ms. Mavis Tan bought chicken and duck rice and I bought an avocado milkshake.

(Forgive the rambling)

After eating(and drinking), Fiona and I went up to the classroom to entertain ourselves for the rest of the duration (until 17 30, that makes about three hours). We had three hours to kill. So, we played taiti (Instructions on how to play on another blog post) and Randy came in. Apparently he was staying until 17 30 and then staying overnight too. Oh what a surprise. Daniel Chin was too; we played taiti until Kenneth and Cleven came in and Cleven brought his basketball. Jaron then came in and brought Cleven, Kenneth, Xin Jie and Randy down to play soccer...( I think D.C. went too, but I cannot be too sure.)

That left me and Fiona alone again. We amused ourselves by playing with the basketball Cleven brought, and also "borrowed" Pei Fang's Monopoly(TM) set to play with. (I almost won.) Randy chose that moment to come in, and proceeded to tell me that I would lose because I had too much property and too little money, which i found completely illogical. (Fun Fact: I bought Vine Street for $1 because Fiona didn't want to auction). Cleven and Xin Jie and D.C. would come later.

After a few more rounds of moving the little counters clockwise around the green board, a member of the school staff came in and promptly proceeded to lock the door. A few questions later, we surmised that we were not supposed to sleep in our respective classrooms, but instead in the hall! Pei Fang was not back yet, so we had to bring her bag down ( she was also staying for the night). We had an informal assembly (meaning no one told us to sit there) at the courtyard, then we were told to proceed to the hall. We had the Teachers - Students match of Captain's Ball and soccer while waiting for the food to be readied. The captain's ball match was deeply disappointing, with the teachers winning 8- 3 or something. Xuan Li was really the star player (you can find her blog at http://catlover261.blogspot.com) because she was the goalee and she was really good at blocking Mrs. Chan at getting the ball. Overall, I thought the females played commendably, although even after repeated examples (not explictly depicted, of course) they still didn't learn to block the opponent when they throw the ball. The soccer match was much better, with the boys winning 1/2 - 0 (cannot remember). I was the commentator for the soccer match, and I sucked. ( I never watched soccer games), after which returning back to my floor-seat I was bombarded with extremely sarcastic comments and sniggers.

But enough of that. Anyway, after the two games, we were allowed to go back to the courtyard and start eating!

...... To be continued in Part II

MUSIC PRACTICE (and everything before it)

Introducing..... THE TRACK BUILDERS TEAM!

We pride ourselves on building racecar tracks with only UNO Cards! Our tracks range from easy (one loop, four turns) to fiendishly difficult (many loops, many turns!) tracks. Our members are:

Zheng Hong -- Artistic Director/ Aesthetics Manager
Pethuel Ho -- Chief Tester/ President
Chong You, Andrew Chia -- Builders
Gui An -- Fiendishly difficult track specialist/Builder

We are not recruiting, sorry! =)

Anyway, we build(t) lots of tracks and tested and played all of them out at the back of the class.

I learned a lot about placement and psychological pleasure, all of them trade secrets (shh).

Anyway, after the lesson, I went to play soccer (injured 3 of my toes, ouch) and then proceeded to the Music Room to practice the playing of the pieces Viva La Vida and Hold On. (I honestly think that Hold On is easier to play the bass) [ I'm in charge of the big base drum and another drum which i cannot remember the name). Wei Sheng needed to work on his tempo, I needed to work on the drumbeat and Ariel suffered from fatigue problems. Fiona was kinda.... sorta... soft, but she was good.

Half through the practice, two teachers came in to listen! One went away, but another stayed with us and even gave us tips for the playing of the pieces.

Yeah that's about it for today, good-bye

A typical Sunday

This shall be a post composed almost entirely of pictures.

If you don't like blog posts with pictures, just comment on my tagboard/Cbox.

This is an innovative new method of posting! I shall call it PICTORYPOST(TM)

It's a beautiful Sunday Morning, and the weather is fine.

Flowers and trees everywhere! What a beautiful morning.

And our dedicated crew of actors begins the day!

The most senior male member of the family is watching T.V. (Pheonix Channel).

And the two grandmothers and a domestic helper are assisting with brunch!

The mother has just woken up - seems hostile. Let us move on to somebody else!

The sister is doing her homework;

the brother is slacking off;

and the father is nowhere to be seen! (he's taking the photos)

Will post when I upload more pictures. Bye!

Today is November First!

Posted this to get a November Archive.

Got archive (thanks ariel) now!

Friday, October 31, 2008

Hi guys! I shall post about two things today: (yesterday's) Snow City Excursion and (long time ago) MediaCorp Filming Thingy =).

Remember I said I would post when i got the pictures? Well I have, so here they are!

The owner of the house we used to film (observe diff. between her tv and the tv we used for filming )

My sister looking at me and 3 other people filming

My sister and my friend Hayley filming together.

I will post more pictures later.

The film will air on 23rd November. Leave a comment on cbox if you want to know more =)

Right. Today, I got my first Nuffnang ad and a poll! I also added a Happy-O-Meter to my blog.

(Now to Snow City)

Yesterday was the day we went for Snow City Excursion. We made ice cream (liquid nitrogen and boiling water lol) and I brought my own clothes so i didn't have to borrow.

I WENT ON THE SLIDE 13 times! HAHAHAHA RECORD LOL

It was really cold there. The slide was super cool fun! Too bad we weren't allowed to take pictures, because there were "professional" photographers to take for us.

When I came out, I was so angry! You actually had to pay 15 dollars for the photo! Wa lau, money-grabbing freaks.

However, other than that, it was rather enjoyable. =)

P.S. I'm adding a camera onto my wishlist!

P.P.S: I've added many widgets!

Behh, I have to eat lunch now, BB kthanksbaiseeyouagainsoon

EDIT: ZE PICTURES ARE HERE!!!

(the others, anyway)

Antiquated T.V. (the one we used for the filming)

Nice view, hard to come by in Singapore.

Chicken (haha)

AND...... (drum roll)

BONUS NERD PICTURE!!!!

THE ULTIMATE NERD/GEEK of all time!!

(and the nerd smile and weird slippers)
(observe the super cool custom made watch that looks sci-fi because this film is made in 1960)

TA-DAH!

Monday, October 27, 2008

hey guys.

just came back from a movie (the HSM3 we missed on Friday). Came home with not just a hell of a headache, but a f****** migraine. I finally found out I'm allergic to caffeine, and I drank Pepsi just now......

The movie wasn't stellar, but what made today absolutely horrible was the other moviegoers. The audience was mainly children, and a disorderly lot they truly were! Walking along, obstructing my view, loud noises, bright flashes of light (actually that was the movie, and I suffer from epilepsy. Maybe that cause my headache too). And when the two main charact ers kissed, moaning (moaning!) and cheers and jeers filled the whole hall.

Oh, how my head hurts.

Blow-By-Blow Account; Friday

On Friday, we went to the Science Center. The Science Center has this amazing attraction called the Omni-Theatre (where the screen is not only big, it is concave, resulting in a paranomic/ more realistic view. Then, after school, I, Jaron and Randy and Yizhe and erm.... Cleven went to watch a movie. The tickets were sold out, so we went to Randy';s house instead. After that, I took the bus to go to Bukit Batok Swimming Complex, but I got lost, so I had to take a taxi ( got scolded by my mother) After the swimming lesson, my grandfather came to fetch me (surprise) so I stayed at his house for two days (till Sat). Sunday was occupied with activities; my grandfather visited us and today is Monday, and we are going to catch the movie! haha

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Hello guys.

First, an apology for not posting these past 2 days, as I was tired and worn out from all the activities (Science Centre, movie etc.). Also, the examinations went on without s hitch, except for Tuesday, where I was caught in the rain. Still...

These 6 days will be full with pure bliss and joy and anticipation.

  • PSLE DIARY - DAY 4

Last Monday was the fourth day of the PSLE.

MONDAY 08 15
, 5th OCTOBER 2008

Monday...was also rather nervousness-inducing because Math is ( and was ) my weakest subject. However, owing to an absence of a (previous) stomach ache and having done sufficient revision, it was not so bad.Section C was to prove easy. (I told you so.)

  • PSLE DIARY - DAY 4 (7 DAYS LATER)
I intend to spend today blogging, playing Rakion, Runescape and MapleStory. (Refer to Sunday).

Yesterday, we went to Streets to eat!

We went to Bukit Panjang Plaza with my family (mother, father, sister, grandfather, grandmother anddddd me!)

The food was extremely salty. Bleaggh. 3/8 All the dishes were in Chinese, so I cannot list them down because my memory of Chinese characters is worse than my memory of English words.

After the food, I went to TimeZone to play the drums, where I met this girl.

Man, was she amazing!

She not only offered me tips on drumming, she also gave me her TimeZone card! From what I managed to get from her in our brief conversation, she:

  • lives in Yishun
  • is around my age
  • is super generous
  • is pretty decent looking (;

  • PSLE DIARY - DAY 3

Last Saturday was the third day of the PSLE.

SUNDAY 09 25
, 5th OCTOBER 2008

Since Sunday was (and is ) not a school day, I spent my time studing very hard for the Math Paper. I was very nervous as I thought that Math was my weakest subject.
Section C was the section I was most apprehensive about, because that proved to be my downfall in the Prelims. (Sneak Preview: the Section C was easy!) (refer to Saturday, LOL)

That day I had Math tuition, though, from two to four. We went through lots of questions; a pity none of them came out in the real examination.

  • PSLE DIARY - DAY 3 (7 DAYS LATER)
I intend to spend today blogging, playing Rakion, Runescape and MapleStory. (Refer to Saturday).

Yesterday, we went to Fish & Co to eat!

We went to Jurong Point with my family (mother, father, sister, grandfather, grandmother, maid anddddd me!)

We ordered:

  • Mushroom Salad
  • Mermaid's Rings (with rice)
  • Captain's Hook *2 (with rice)
  • New York Fish and Chips (with rice)
  • Coriander Catch (with rice)
  • Peri Peri Prawns (with rice)
  • Rice with Nuggets (cannot remember the name)
  • 8 Orders Total
But because the service crew (or the cook) was all muddled up, they gave us:

  • Mushroom Salad
  • Mermaid's Rings (with rice)
  • Captain's Hook *2 (with rice)
Hmm...... so far so good!
  • New York Fish and Chips (with chips)
Oh dear!
  • Coriander Catch (with rice)
  • Peri Peri Catch (with chips)
Peri Peri Catch is essentially "catch of the day", where it was some kind of sambal fish
but they made another "chip" mistake. AHH DOUBLE MISTAKE
  • Rice with Nuggets (cannot remember the name)

VERDICT:
  • 6 Correct Orders
  • 3 Mistakes
  • 5 /8 Score

Saturday, October 11, 2008

And then the MediaCorp people came, took all sorts of measurements of my sister and me ( height, weight, shoe size, waist size, etc), took our pictures, also asked my grandfather whether he would like to act...

I'm rather skeptical about them doing a film, but...

i hate doing films, but my mother talked me into it. It will be next Saturday, I guess.

  • PSLE DIARY - DAY 2

Last Saturday was the second day of the PSLE.

SATURDAY 10 00
, 4th OCTOBER 2008

Since Saturday was (and is ) not a school day, I spent my time studing very hard for the Math Paper. I was very nervous as I thought that Math was my weakest subject.
Section C was the section I was most apprehensive about, because that proved to be my downfall in the Prelims. (Sneak Preview: the Section C was easy!)

  • PSLE DIARY - DAY 2 (7 DAYS LATER)
I intend to spend today blogging, playing Rakion, Runescape and MapleStory. MediaCorp will be coming to my house to film my family later (around 12 I guess) because my sister is oh-so-famous.

We made a video about Runescape on the Wilderness!

This is primarily the ending...

  • PSLE DIARY -- DAY 1

Last Friday was the first day of the PSLE.

FRIDAY 0815, 3rd OCTOBER 2008

Well, English was mostly uneventful. English was rather easy, but the composition was made worse by this horrible stomach ache I had (my mother attributed this to nervousness). Luckily it went away in time and I was able to finish the second paper uneventfully.
My father picked me up after the examination.
People say the first exam is the most difficult and nervousness-inducing (out of lack of a better term, I have chosen this phrase) and well, it was true.

  • PSLE DIARY -- DAY 1
  • 7 DAYS LATER

Pah. I thought it was going to be lots of fun, instead we had to endure over four hours of movies that i had watched before (Garfield, Mr.Bean) so we didn't really get our (promised) ultimate bliss. Fortunately, I borrowed two books of Fiona's written by Meg Cabot [The Mediator] so it wasn't so bad. The story... bah, it's lame and soppy. This girl can talk to ghosts, moves into a house, sees a very hot male ghost in a room, exorcises some other ghost, foils an elaborate plan, makes out with that very hot male ghost, blah, blah, blah. You can tell where the story will go.

On hindsight, maybe borrowing those books made the day even worse instead of 'not so bad'.

Peace out!

my first post

Hello! How are you? Please relink me! My swimming (hehe remember that swimming lesson fat man incident of that pool?) and my piano lessons will be starting again next week.
